Walking along Vilų Street, you can admire the still well-preserved old villas from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Monbijou, Jenny, and Loebel villas were built back when Juodkrantė was still a fledgling resort – there were no tourists yet, and only wealthy families were building their summer homes.

Walking around, you will also see the villa Elisabeth, which belonged to the Stellmacher family, the founders of the resort. However, the villa today bears little resemblance to the original and has undergone significant architectural changes. It is now an apartment block and is home to several families.

On Miško Street you will also find the impressive Villa Bachmann, today known as Kuršių Kiemas. The villa has remained unchanged over the years and is still a hotel today,” said Mohylko.

When you come to the last villa on Miško Street and see the abandoned houses of the former summer camp, follow the signs and turn right onto Bloksbergo Promenade. Here you will have the opportunity to stroll along the edge of the Juodkrantė Spit and admire the old trees.

After admiring the old forest, you can continue your walk to the Juodkrantė lighthouse. Look for the mysterious bench nearby. The locals call it “a bench for two”. Here you will be rewarded with a magnificent view – you will be able to see both the sea and the Curonian Lagoon at the same time
